Local government partnerships

The Province of British Columbia, through BC Housing, is working in partnership with eight municipalities across British Columbia to develop new housing options to individuals who are homeless or at risk.

As part of the provincial housing strategy, Housing Matters BC , the provincial government is providing capital and operating costs to develop new supportive housing on city-owned sites in the following communities: Vancouver,  Victoria, Kelowna, Surrey, Abbotsford, Maple Ridge, Campbell River and Nanaimo.

Nine projects are complete and construction is now underway at many of the remaining 23 housing developments where the Province has committed to spend $520.5 million to create more than 2,300 new supportive housing units, creating an estimated 3,300 jobs. See a complete location list.
