Kelowna

In March 2008, the Province of British Columbia and the City of Kelowna signed an agreement to build up to 128 new supportive housing units on three city-owned sites for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, including:

  • Willowbridge at 330 Boyce Crescent (Operated by Canadian Mental Health Association – Kelowna Branch) - Providing 40 units of transitional housing with support services
  • Tutt Street Place at 2938 Tutt St* (Operated by New Opportunities for Women (NOW) Canada) - Providing 39 larger family units for women and children
  • New Gate Apartments at 195 Rutland Road North (Operated by John Howard Society of the Central and South Okanagan) - Providing 49 units of longer-term, transitional housing
* In exchange for the Tutt Street site, NOW Canada will sell the City of Kelowna an undeveloped parcel of land in Rutland that the City proposes to convert into a public park.
