Nanaimo

The Province of British Columbia and the City of Nanaimo have approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to build new supportive housing units for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, including:

  • Salish Lelum at 479 10th Street (Operated by Tillicum Lelum Aboriginal Friendship Centre) - Provide 18 supportive housing units for Aboriginal youth and Elders
  • 437 Wesley Road (Operated by Canadian Mental Health Association - Mid Island Branch) - Provide 36 supportive housing units for homeless singles and people in need of higher levels of support services
  • 1402-1590 Bowen Road - Provide approximately 30 supportive housing units
  • 1612 Dufferin Crescent - Provide between 35-40 units of supportive housing
  • 6025 Uplands Drive - Provide between 35-40 units of supportive housing
