Providing Affordable Rental Housing

Many individuals and families face significant barriers in accessing housing in the private market, either as a direct result of financial challenges or in combination with a disability, health issue, mental illness, addiction or other serious circumstances, such as domestic violence. The provincial government, through BC Housing, is committed to helping those individuals and families in need have access to safe, secure housing.  Check the programs below to find out more:
  • Rental Assistance Program - Providing low-income, working families with cash assistance to help with their monthly rent payments in the private market.
  • Shelter Aid For Elderly Renters - Providing low-income seniors with cash assistances to help with their monthly rent payments in the private market.
  • Subsidized Housing  - Providing long-term housing with rent geared to income for those in need.
