Rental Assistance Program

Launched in 2006 as part of Housing Matters BC , the Rental Assistance Program provides eligible low-income, working families with cash assistance to help with their monthly rent payments in the private market.

The program provides rent assistance to working families with a gross household income of $35,000 or less and at least one dependent child.

Rental assistance means Surrey family has a comfortable home

Cathy* has always been resourceful. The Surrey single mother shops at thrift stores and, when things were really tight several years ago, also used the services of a local food bank and the Christmas Bureau. Fortunately, things are a bit easier now for Cathy and her two daughters, thanks in part to the monthly instalments Cathy receives from the Province’s Rental Assistance Program for low-income working families.
