How to access Extreme Weather Response shelters

The provincially funded  Extreme Weather Response (EWR) program  provides individuals and families in need with access to a warm, dry place to sleep during extreme weather conditions between November 1st and March 31st.

Each community decides on a local basis when to issue an Extreme Weather Alert based on current conditions and local forecasts determining when locations will be open and the number of spaces available.

The Extreme Weather Response program is now open.  Check out the Shelter map or the Emergency Shelter Program list to find shelters in your local communities.
Follow BC Housing on Twitter @BC_Housing  to find out when communities issue Extreme Weather Alerts or contact your local EWR shelter to confirm whether it is open during extreme weather.
