Permanent resident or refugee claimant

If you or any of your household family members were not born in Canada, you must provide a photocopy of your citizenship papers or immigration documents for each family member living in your household.

Please provide a photocopy of one (1) of the following for each family member:

Permanent Resident Card (both sides)

The permanent resident (PR) card is a wallet-sized, plastic status card that replaces the paper IMM1000 Record of Landing document for travel purposes. As of December 31, 2003 it is a proof of status document.

If you do not have your permanent Resident Card and arrived in Canada before June 28, 2002 please provide a photocopy of your Record of Landing (IMM1000) document . 


 

If you do not have your permanent Resident Card and arrived in Canada  after June 28, 2002 please provide a photocopy of your  Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM5292) document.

If any of your residency documents have been lost, stolen or destroyed you need to contact Citizenship and Immigration Canada through their website or call: 1-888-242-2100 (in Canada only). You will need to download and fill out the application (IMM 5545) and mail your completed application to the nearest Citizenship and Immigration Centre near you.
