Addiction Recovery Program
Through a partnership with
Vancouver Coastal Health
and
Fraser Health,
BC Housing provides transitional housing units to people
in recovery from problematic substance use. Before long-term
housing can be a sustainable option for some individuals, support
services need to be in place to help manage their
addictions.
The 18-month Addiction Recovery Program ensures that
affordable housing and support services are available to
individuals in recovery once they have completed detox and support
recovery programs. 93 units of transitional housing are provided on
a priority basis.Individuals referred to the program must:
-
have demonstrated a commitment to recovery, and abstinence for a period of at least 3 months at time of referral/application and maintain abstinence prior to placement into program;
-
have a personal recovery plan;
-
have skills and abilities to live independently with minimal supports.
-
reside in Vancouver or the Fraser Health Region - from Burnaby to Boston Bar catchment area (please confirm exact communities with Fraser Health.)
