Community Partnership Initiatives
Through the Community Partnership
Initiatives (CPI) program, BC Housing provides advice,
referrals to partnership opportunities and interim financing, and
arranges long-term financing for non-profit societies to create
self-sustaining, affordable housing developments. BC
Housing’s capacity to provide financing with favourable
terms is the cornerstone of the program.

program.
Please note that the CPI program does not include
any funding, such as capital grants or operating subsidies. To be
considered self-sustaining, affordable housing proposals must not
require funding from BC Housing.
How to apply for financing through CPI
The following steps are required to obtain

| Step 1 | Arrange an initial meeting with the Director, Regional Development that is responsible for your community. At this meeting, you will be able to obtain further information about the CPI program and BC Housing can learn about your specific business plan and financing requirements. | |
| Step 2 | Following this meeting, BC Housing will conduct an analysis of your business plan and financing requirements, using the Affordable Rental Evaluation Matrix. This may require the submission of additional information from your society. | |
| Step 3 | If the business model is feasible, BC Housing will issue a Provisional Project Approval (PPA) letter that outlines the specific terms and conditions that your society must meet for financing of your project. | |
| Step 4 | Once your society has met the PPA conditions, you may request Final Project Commitment (FPC) from BC Housing. | |
| Step 5 | Upon issuance of FPC from BC Housing and completion of any outstanding conditions, BC Housing will disburse the funds. | |
