What are the citizenship requirements?

You and your spouse (with whom you are living) must:

  • be Canadian citizen(s); or
  • be authorized to take up permanent residence in Canada; or
  • be Convention refugee(s).
Households who came to Canada under a sponsorship agreement are not eligible while the agreement is still in place.
