Subcontractors are invited to submit tenders for specific scopes of work relating to the construction of the new Clearbrook Women’s Housing project

Tenders are requested for the following trades/scopes of work:

A bid depository will not be in effect for this project.

It is expected that work will commence on site in late October 2010, with Project Completion occurring in late January 2012. Dates may change without notice.

Refer to the instructions to bidders for more detail on the tender package scopes of work. All bidders must follow the Bidders Notes & Instructions. All bidders must submit a completed CCDC 11 Contractors Qualification Statement within 24 hrs after the tender closing time. These forms will be available with the tender package. Bidders who do not submit the completed CCDC 11 on or before the required time will not be considered.

Tenders will be evaluated based on a review of the CCDC 11 with respect to current project load, construction value, company size, staff resources attributed to the project, comparison to current project type and proposed price. References may be called. Evidence of Worksafe BC Coverage must be provided. A selective sub trade bonding of 50% Performance and 50% Labour & Material Payment bonds may be considered for the project.

All tenders will close at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday October 7, 2010 (Revised Date) at the office of the Construction Manager – Mierau Contractors Ltd. E-mail: elainem@mierau.net . Faxed, e-mailed or hand delivered submissions are acceptable provided they are received on time. As e-mails and faxes can be delayed in transmission it is the responsibility of the bidder to ensure the fax is received by the tender closing time. No late submissions will be accepted.

There will be no notice given to individual subcontractors for addendums. It will be the responsibility of each sub-trade to check regularly for addendum postings prior to a submission.

All proponents are asked to register with the Construction Manager their intent to submit a proposal. Please confirm your notification by faxing the Bidder Registration Form available for download below to, attention: Elaine Mierau, Project Coordinator, e-mail elainem@mierau.net on or before Friday, September 10, 2010.

Tender questions must be submitted in written form and sent to: Doug Margison, Project Manager, Mierau Contractors Ltd., e-mail doug@mierau.net . Written enquiries may be submitted by e-mail or fax. The deadline for all questions will be 5:00 p.m. September 21, 2010. If necessary an addendum will be posted to share the questions and answers.

This ‘Invitation to Tender' in no way represents an intent to enter into a subcontract with your company. The lowest or any proposal will not necessarily be accepted.
