Community Partnership Initiatives
Program Overview
BC Housing partners with municipalities, non-profit societies and other community groups to implement innovative strategies that create more affordable housing for people in need. Our Community Partnership Initiatives (CPI) provide one-time grants, mortgage financing, or rent support for unique housing solutions, without the need for ongoing operating subsidies. The nature of our assistance will depend on the merits of the proposed project and the resources we have available at the time. Since June 2001, 1,334 affordable housing units have been created or are in development. Projects vary in size and scope. Click here to see a sample CPI project. In 2004/05, BC Housing partnered with non-profit societies, municipalities, and the federal government to create an additional 353 CPI units with BC Housing grants of approximately $3.5 million. Housing providers can click this link to learn more about how to apply for CPI funding . |
