Why does BC Housing over or under pay subsidies?

Subsidy is based on the tenant information submitted to BC Housing. As tenant information changes, so will the amount of subsidy. In addition, the level of subsidy is based on an estimated budget amount.

At year end, when the subsidy is reconciled, based on actual expenditures and actual tenant rent contributions, adjustments are made for any over or under payments of subsidy.
