Corporate Communications

Responsibilities:

  • Internal and external communication strategies, including: issues management, media relations and housing program announcements, as well as government, stakeholder and community relations
  • Housing events and conferences
  • Groundbreaking and opening ceremonies for new housing developments
  • Website, social media channels and corporate publications

Corporate Services

Responsibilities:

  • Finance, business support services, legal services and internal audit
  • Information technology
  • Research and corporate planning, and program planning
  • Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
  • Compliment and complaint resolution for clients, partners and stakeholders
  • Mortgage administration 

Development Services & Asset Strategies

Responsibilities:

  • New housing creation, through a range of programs
  • Social housing stock redevelopment, improvement and sustainability, including: major repairs, renovation, capital improvement and energy retrofit projects 
  • Construction and energy efficiency strategies and standards used in the development of subsidized housing

Human Resources

Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and hiring of new employees
  • Labour negotiations, compensation and benefits administration
  • Occupational health and safety
  • Employee leadership, engagement and retention strategies 

Licensing & Consumer Services

Responsibilities:

  • Residential builder and building envelope renovator licensing
  • Owner Builder Authorizations
  • Third-party home warranty insurance system monitoring
  • Research and education to improve quality of residential construction and consumer protection (see Research Centre)

Operations

Responsibilities:

  • Provision of access to existing subsidized housing through the Housing Registry
  • Property management, tenant relations and community development programs for tenants in directly managed (public) housing stock
  • Operational, budgetary and financial review processes with non-profit and co-op housing providers 
  • Administration of PRHC group homes on behalf of sponsoring ministries
  • Program delivery including: Shelter Aid For Elderly Residents, Rental Assistance Program, Homeless Outreach Program, Emergency Shelter Program, Extreme Weather Response Program, Women’s Transition Housing and Supports programs
  • Housing and service agreements with non-profit and community organizations
