In partnership with Metlakatla First Nation, we are developing a 32-unit project for individuals aged 65 and above.
About the Project
Located in Prince Rupert’s east side, this $17.5-million project will consist of two separate two-storey buildings with 32 units, a commercial kitchen, meetings rooms, and an amenity space. There will be 16 one-bedroom units, eight one-bedroom plus den units, and eight two-bedroom units.
Indigenous elements play a significant role in the building design: the structures will reflect a traditional medicine wheel, while the roof mimics a traditional Tsimshian hat.
Formerly the site of King Edward Elementary school, the property is well situated for affordable housing. It’s within 600 metres of the public library and one kilometre to the closest grocery store and other amenities and services.
Metlakatla First Nation is developing the project and has appointed Cedar Village Housing Society to own and operate the project.
