Province details half-a-billion dollars in affordable housing

On September 19, 2016, the Province announced their commitment to the creation of 2,900 new units of affordable rental housing through a $500 million investment. Eligible proposals received through the Provincial Investment in Affordable Housing proposal call and through the Community Partnership Initiatives were considered.

As of November 22, 2016, a total of 53 projects (2,404 units) have been approved, representing a $437 million investment into affordable rental units for low to moderate income renters, including seniors, youth, students, adults with developmental disabilities, Aboriginal peoples, and women and children.

Approved Projects - The Affordable Rental Housing Map provides an overview of approved projects by community and target client group. This includes projects funded by the Provincial Investment in Affordable Housing program, and the Investment in Housing Innovation program.
