Amrit Sohal (“A. Sohal”), contrary to sections 14(1) and 22(1) of the Homeowner Protection Act (the “Act”), built, or caused to be built, a two-unit non-conforming dwelling unit in Surrey, BC (the “New Homes”), sometime prior to October 2020, without being a BC Housing (“BCH”) Licensed Residential Builder and without any of the New Homes being registered for coverage by home warranty insurance provided by a warranty provider. Between August 2024 and March 2025, Saveena Sohal, Gurjot Sekhon, and Gurbir Sekhon became joint owners of the New Homes with A. Sohal. On June 30, 2026, BCH issued Compliance Order 26-0011 to A. Sohal, Saveena Sohal, Gurjot Sekhon, and Gurbir Sekhon (collectively, the “Owners”) directing that the Owners:
- immediately provide BCH Compliance Department with evidence that the New Homes have been removed from the property.
The Owners were ordered to comply with Compliance Order 26-0011 by August 14, 2026.
