Fire Safety Training for Non-Profit Providers

Whether you work with tenants, manage buildings, or help behind the scenes, knowing fire safety is important. It helps keep people and property safe. This course gives you the basic knowledge to spot fire risks, respond the right way, and help create a safer workplace.

BC Housing expects all staff who have fire safety duties to finish Fire Safety Awareness Training (or similar training) before starting those duties. All Supportive Housing (SRO) staff must complete this training within one month of being hired.

For providers in BC Housing’s Operational Review cycle, this will be checked under Element 2.3.b. For Supportive Housing Providers, it will also be reinforced under Element 4.5.3.e.
