Northern Woodworker Ltd. and Ivan Kortchevich

On May 2, 2014, pursuant to s. 28.3(1)(c) of the Homeowner Protection Act (the “Act”), Northern Woodworker Ltd. (“NWL”) and Ivan Kortchevich (“Kortchevich”), were issued a monetary penalty in the single amount of $4,950. This Monetary Penalty was issued for the following reasons:

• NWL and Kortchevich contravened s. 14(1) and s. 22(1) of the Act regarding a new home in Fort Nelson, B.C. (the “New Home”), during the period of, or about, April 5, 2004, and October 21, 2008;
• On June 15, 2010, the HPO placed a conditional status on HPO Licence 32515 requiring NWL and Kortchevick to enrol the New Home in a policy of home warranty insurance within 30 days. Kortchevich and NWL failed to meet the condition of HPO Licence 32515 by the requested date;
• On November 6, 2012, the HPO placed a conditional status on HPO Licence 36472 requiring NWL and Kortchevich to enrol the New Home in a policy of home warranty insurance within 30 days. Kortchevich and NWL failed to meet the condition of HPO Licence 36472 by the requested date; and

NWL and Kortchevich failed to comply with the conditions of HPO Licence 32515 and HPO Licence 36472 by the requested dates.
