Ranjeet Jhatu (“Jhatu”), contrary to sections 14(1) and 22(1) of the Homeowner Protection Act (the “Act”), built, or caused to be built, a five-unit, non-conforming multi-unit building in Surrey, BC (the “New Homes”), sometime prior to March 17, 2025, without being a BC Housing (“BCH”) Licensed Residential Builder, and without any of the New Homes being registered for coverage by home warranty insurance provided by a warranty provider. On February 20, 2026, BCH issued Compliance Order 26-0004 to Jhatu directing that Jhatu:

  • immediately provide BCH Compliance Department with evidence that the New Homes have been removed from the property.

Jhatu was ordered to comply with Compliance Order 26-0004 by April 3, 2026.
