Siltstone Contracting Ltd. (“SCL”), Vikramjit Singh (“Singh”), and Lakhvinder Kaur (“Kaur”), contrary to section 14(1) of the Homeowner Protection Act (the “Act”), conducted the business of a residential builder without a valid BC Housing (“BCH”) Residential Builder Licence, between the dates of, or about, February 28, 2017, and February 20, 2018. On February 20, 2018, BCH issued Compliance Order 18-0013 to SCL, Singh and Kaur directing that SCL, Singh and Kaur:
- immediately cease carrying on the business of a residential builder as defined in the Act, and cease construction activities on two new homes in Abbotsford, B.C. (collectively, the “New Homes”); and
- prior to resuming construction on any of the New Homes, provide BCH Compliance Department with proof that each of the News Homes is being built by a LRB pursuant to section 14(1).
SCL, Singh and Kaur were ordered to comply with Compliance Order 18-0013 by March 16, 2018.
