Project overview
BC Housing and the City of Kamloops are building 98 new homes at 777-809 Mission Flats Road in Kamloops.
This housing will consist of two permanent modular buildings. The residential apartment buildings will include:
- 98 studio homes with support services (supportive housing)
- Indoor and outdoor common areas
- Central kitchen and laundry facilities
- Reception area and office space for staff
- Fenced grounds and on-site parking
These buildings will replace the 55 temporary modular homes at 805 Mission Flats Road.
Supportive housing is subsidized housing with on-site supports. Residents are single adults (19+) who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness. This can include seniors and people with disabilities.
All residents apply to live in supportive housing, sign program agreements and pay rent.
Typical supports include:
- 24/7 staffing
- Daily meals
- Life skills and employment training
- Access to health supports
- Connections to community services
To learn more, check out our Stories from Supportive Housing (playlist on YouTube). These short videos show inside several supportive housing buildings. They also share stories from residents, staff and neighbours.
BC Housing has selected ASK Wellness to operate the building. Staff will manage the building and provide support services to residents.
