Project overview
BC Housing and Revelstoke Community Housing Society (RCHS) are redeveloping the site at 421 Edward Street and 418 & 422 Downie Street in Revelstoke. The goal is to build modern, energy efficient rental apartments that will serve the Revelstoke community for years to come.
The redevelopment will include:
- 166 new non-market and market rental homes
- Outdoor space for residents
- Childcare centre funded by the Ministry of Education and Child Care
- Indoor resident bike parking
- Three buildings up to four storeys tall
- Streetscape upgrades to Downie Street and Edward Street
Construction is expected to start this spring. BC Housing will follow all municipal permitting processes.
Funding is provided by:
- BC Housing
- Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation
- The City of Revelstoke
- The Columbia Basin Trust
New purpose-built rental housing provides homes at or just below the private rental market rental rates. It is available to people and families with moderate to middle incomes.
BC Housing selected the Revelstoke Community Housing Society (RCHS) to help develop and manage this housing. RCHS is a non-profit corporation with the goal of providing a variety of housing options that are accessible to local residents.

Community engagement took place between 2020 and 2021, which helped shape the Development Plan. During the community engagement process approximately 150 provided feedback via open house, and nearly 500 online surveys were shared. This valuable input helped shape the final site plan.
