Project overview

BC Housing, Canada Mortgage Housing Corporation, the City of Vancouver, the Aboriginal Housing Management Association and the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society have partnered to build nearly 170 new Indigenous-focused homes at 1015 East Hastings Street.

M’akola Development Services and Western Canadian Properties Group are providing development support.

The 13-storey mixed-use apartment building will include:

  • 56 market rental homes
  • 87 affordable rental homes
  • 25 studio homes with support services (supportive housing)
  • 80 permanent shelter beds
  • Community gathering and ceremonial spaces
  • Space for Indigenous artwork and installations
  • Social enterprise spaces including a bicycle repair facility and café

This development will honour the area’s Indigenous history and the elders, adults, youth and families who live here.
