Project overview
BC Housing and Chard Development Ltd. are building 505 new rental homes at 1961 Douglas Street and 710 Caledonia Avenue.
The development will include:
- Three concrete high-rise towers
- A mix of studio, 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom homes at market, near-market, and below-market rates
- 60,000 sq. ft. of commercial space including a restaurant, co-working office and a Thrifty Foods grocery store
This project is funded through the Province’s BC Builds program. This program speeds up the development of new homes for middle-income working people throughout British Columbia.
Affordable rental housing provides homes at lower rental rates than the private market. It is available to people and families with low to moderate incomes who may not be eligible for subsidized housing.
Market rent housing provides homes at rental rates equal to or slightly lower than the private market. It is available to people with a moderate income who are looking for an affordable long-term tenancy.
We commit to being good neighbours. We will share any updates about this project as soon as they are available.
