Project overview

BC Housing plans to redevelop Stratford Gardens at 6005 Pandora Street. The goal is to build modern, energy efficient apartments that will serve the Burnaby community for years to come.  The site will be redeveloped in phases.

Phase 1 will include:

  • The replacement of 126 rent-geared-to-income homes for seniors and adults with disabilities who live on their own
  • Improved landscaping, with new pathways that connect to the neighbourhood
  • Indoor and outdoor shared spaces for residents

The new Stratford Gardens will offer a variety of purpose-built rental homes. Future phases will add more options for middle income earners. We expect these future phases to include one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments that will be rented at near market rates.

These homes will support people such as teachers, first responders, and health‑care workers.

The number of rent-geared-to-income homes will remain the same at 126. All current tenants will receive support during the redevelopment.

The land will continue to be owned by BC Housing. Learn more about the Provincial Redevelopment Program.
