Preliminary design of the Extreme Weather Shelter at 1275 7th Avenue in Hope

Project overview

BC Housing, the District of Hope, Fraser Health and Cedar Strong Prevention & Intervention Society are building 56 new homes and a shelter at 1275 7th Avenue.

The 3-storey modular building will include:

  • 56 studio homes with support services (supportive housing)
  • 15 shelter spaces
  • Space to provide an additional 15 spaces during extreme weather (Extreme Weather Response)
  • Indoor and outdoor common areas
  • Central kitchen and laundry facilities
  • Reception area and office space for staff
  • Dedicated space for Fraser Health's Integrated Homelessness Action Response Team (IHART) to support residents and shelter guests
  • Fenced grounds with on‑site vehicle and bicycle parking

The property is owned by Fraser Health and located next to the Fraser Canyon Hospital.
