VANCOUVER - New measures are coming to B.C. that will help create more housing as the Province speeds up permitting and helps build more secondary suites for rent.

BURNABY - Families and seniors with low to moderate incomes have moved into 20 new affordable rental homes in Burnaby.

CAMPBELL RIVER - Women and children leaving violence now have 55 more safe spaces to call home.

VANCOUVER - Seniors in Vancouver now have access to increased housing in their community with 58 new affordable rental homes opening on the Fraser Street corridor.

BURNABY - Residents of the Sperling Place Emergency Response Centre (ERC) will soon be moving into 43 units of new permanent supportive housing in the community.

COQUITLAM - BC Housing and local partners are acting on an independent review of the supportive housing and permanent shelter at 3030 Gordon Ave.

NANAIMO – Seniors and people living with disabilities in Nanaimo now have more affordable housing options with the opening of 62 new homes at Sunfield Manor.

VANCOUVER - New affordable rental homes for people with moderate and low incomes will soon be on the way as the Province is inviting non-profits, First Nations, municipalities and other organizations to submit proposals for the Building BC: Community Housing Fund (CHF).

VICTORIA - Seniors and people living with disabilities in Victoria are now living in safer, more comfortable homes with the completion of significant renovations to the Campbell Lodge seniors' apartment building.

MAPLE RIDGE - An independent review of three supportive housing sites in Maple Ridge includes recommendations to improve the services and safety of the residents.

DELTA - Seniors with low to moderate incomes in Delta will soon have access to 152 new affordable homes, with construction underway on a new housing development.

VANCOUVER - Construction is underway on an Indigenous-led and focused development in Vancouver that will bring nearly 170 mixed-use homes and 80 shelter beds to the Downtown Eastside.

Williams Lake, B.C. - The Tŝilhqot’in National Government and BC Housing reaffirmed their commitment to develop and share best practices in residential asset management today by publicly celebrating their agreement to extend the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two parties. The Honourable Minister of Housing, Ravi Kahlon, joined the Tŝilhqot’in Chiefs in Williams Lake as housing and infrastructure within the Nation was celebrated in a public event.

PRINCE GEORGE - People in need of affordable housing in Prince George will soon have access to 36 new rental homes with the purchase of a new building at 605 Quebec St.

CAPILANO INDIAN RESERVE NO. 5 - Families, elders and youth of the Squamish Nation will soon have access to more affordable housing options with construction underway on 95 new rental homes on reserve land.

KAMLOOPS - Women and children leaving violence in Kamloops now have 14 additional safe places to call home, thanks to a partnership between the Province, through BC Housing, and the Kamloops and District Elizabeth Fry Society (KDEFS).

VANCOUVER - Seniors living in the 33-unit Harmony House in Vancouver's Chinatown will be able to stay in their homes because the Province has bought the building to preserve its ongoing use as affordable rental housing.

VERNON - Seniors with low to moderate incomes are settling into 48 new affordable rental homes that are open in Vernon.

CASTLEGAR - New affordable rental housing is coming for families, seniors, individuals and people living with disabilities in Castlegar as construction has started on 13 new homes in the community.

VANCOUVER – People experiencing homelessness in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside are moving into new temporary supportive homes, made possible through a partnership between the Province, through BC Housing, and the City of Vancouver.

GIBSONS - More affordable housing is coming to Gibsons as construction starts soon on 76 homes for low- and middle-income seniors.

PARKSVILLE - A new affordable housing development in Parksville has opened, providing 87 new affordable rental homes for families, seniors, veterans and people living with disabilities.

KAMLOOPS - The Province has partnered with Ask Wellness Society to preserve 24 units of affordable housing for people transitioning out of homelessness in Kamloops.

HAZELTON - Seniors, families, individuals and people living with disabilities in the village of Hazelton will soon have access to more affordable housing as construction begins on 31 rental homes.

QUALICUM BEACH - Work is underway in Qualicum Beach on a new 56-unit apartment and townhome development that will provide affordable rental housing for families, seniors and individuals with low to moderate incomes.

ABBOTSFORD - An important step in breaking the cycle of homelessness in Abbotsford has been completed with the closure of the Lonzo Road and Sumas Way encampment and the start of construction on a new 50-bed shelter.

LANGLEY - Women and their children leaving violence in the Langley area will soon have 17 new safe and secure beds available to them.

VALEMOUNT - Seniors in Valemount will have access to 18 new affordable rental homes in the coming year, all of which will be accessible for people with increased mobility requirements, as the Ash Street project gets underway.

PRINCE GEORGE - Safe and secure homes with supports for as many as 30 people experiencing homelessness in Prince George are coming soon.

SALMON ARM – The Province, through BC Housing, and the City of Salmon Arm are working together on plans to build a new long-term shelter for people experiencing homelessness in the community.
