On October 12, 2012, Daljit Kaur Uppal (“Uppal”) was issued a monetary penalty in the single amount of $1,400. This Monetary Penalty was issued for the following reasons:
- Uppal, contrary to s. 14(1) of the Homeowner Protection Act (the “Act”), sold a new home in Langley, B.C. (the “New Home”), on, or before, August 21, 2012, without being a Homeowner Protection Office (“HPO”) Licensed Residential Builder; and
- The contravention of this section makes Uppal subject to a monetary penalty pursuant to s. 28.3(1)(a) of the Act and s. 20.1(2)(b) of the Homeowner Protection Act Regulation (the “Regulations”).
