MERRITT - First Nations elders, families and youth in Merritt now have access to new affordable homes with the opening of a 52-unit building.

CASTLEGAR - Thirteen new rental homes are now available for families, seniors and individuals, including adults with developmental disabilities, in Castlegar with the opening of Eagle Estates.

NORTH VANCOUVER – One year after the launch of BC Builds, more affordable housing options are on the way for North Vancouver and throughout B.C., with faster timelines benefiting families, seniors and individuals.

SAANICHTON - First Nations Elders, families and seniors will soon have access to 236 new homes, as construction begins on three on-reserve rental housing developments.

VICTORIA - More people will now benefit from enhancements to the Rental Assistance Program (RAP) and the Shelter Aid for Elderly Renters (SAFER) program, helping low-income families and seniors afford their rent.

VICTORIA - People living in Greater Victoria now have more affordable housing options with 530 new rental homes open or opening soon in the community.

KAMLOOPS - People living with complex mental-health and substance-use challenges in Kamloops will soon have access to robust health and social supports in housing, with 20 new complex-care homes planned for the community.

VANCOUVER - People will have more housing options and access to critical services as construction begins on a multi-use development with 97 non-market homes and a new health- care treatment centre.

VICTORIA - Due to uncertain financial times, and with the federal government committing to implement a similar program, the Province's pilot secondary-suite incentive program will no longer be accepting applications after March 30, 2025.

VICTORIA - Women and children at risk of or leaving violence have access to more safe, secure spaces as 229 new transition and second-stage housing units open on Vancouver Island and in Metro Vancouver.

VICTORIA - The federal and provincial governments announced an enhancement to the Canada-BC Housing Benefit (CBCHB) that will provide additional support for survivors of gender-based violence. The federal government is investing nearly $37 million over four years, with the Province of B.C. providing an equal cost match.

KAMLOOPS - Youth and young adults experiencing homelessness in Kamloops now have access to 39 new homes with supports through the opening of Katherine's Place.

VICTORIA - People will have more affordable housing options in their communities with more than 200 supportive homes, shelter spaces, culturally supportive homes and homes for seniors opening or starting construction.

VANCOUVER – As 337 more affordable rental homes open in Vancouver, new reports are showing positive signs for renters in B.C., including thousands of renters supported through the BC Rent Bank, decreases in rents and record-high rental-home construction starts.

CAMPBELL RIVER - People who were previously living in shelters and encampments in Campbell River now have a roof over their heads and access to services they need at Homewood, a new 40-unit temporary supportive housing project.

People experiencing homelessness in British Columbia will have access to warm, safe indoor spaces as winter weather arrives.

SURREY - More than 248,000 people have been connected to a family doctor or nurse practitioner since the Health Connect Registry launched province-wide in July 2023.

VICTORIA - Families, seniors and individuals in Victoria with low to moderate incomes are moving into 97 new rental homes with the opening of Michigan Square, while another 58 homes for earners with middle incomes are on the way through new BC Builds projects.

NEW DENVER - Families and seniors in New Denver have access to 10 new affordable rental homes with the opening of the Osprey Residence.

VANCOUVER - People are settling into their new homes at a 70-unit affordable rental building in East Vancouver that gives priority to single women, and single mothers and their children.

SURREY - Indigenous people on and off reserve in B.C. will have access to approximately 1,600 new affordable rental homes through partnerships between the Province, through BC Housing, and Indigenous non-profit housing providers.

LANGLEY - Nearly 1,200 rental homes are coming soon for individuals, seniors and families with middle incomes in the Township of Langley and Burnaby, through new BC Builds projects.

GIBSONS - More than 70 new rental homes are coming to Gibsons as families, seniors and individuals begin moving into a completed Phase 1 development and construction begins on Phase 2, a BC Builds delivered project.

SURREY - Seniors in Surrey are one step closer to accessing new long-term care (LTC) beds as construction begins for a new LTC home at 6471 175A St.

MERRITT - People experiencing homelessness in Merritt will soon have access to as many as 40 shelter spaces as the Province, through BC Housing, leases the Knights Inn motel until March 30, 2027.

TERRACE - Women and their children leaving gender-based violence in Terrace now have access to 22 second-stage homes with the opening of Ella's Place.

FORT ST. JAMES - Seniors in Fort St. James and Telkwa are moving into two new buildings with a combined 48 rental homes that are affordable, accessible and centrally located.

VANCOUVER - Women and their children leaving violence in Vancouver will have 10 new homes in the coming weeks to help with their journey of healing and stability.

KELOWNA - People experiencing homelessness in Kelowna will soon have access to as many as 60 more temporary homes with supports.

COURTENAY - Women, gender-diverse people and their dependent children now have access to 48 affordable rental homes with the opening of a new building in Courtenay.
