1002357 B.C. Ltd. (“1002357”) and Shane Alore (“Alore”), contrary to section 14(1) of the Homeowner Protection Act (the “Act”), conducted the business of a residential builder without a valid BC Housing (“BCH”) Residential Builder Licence, between the dates of, or about, August 31, 2017, and March 23, 2018, with respect to two new homes in Landford and Saanich, B.C. (collectively, the “New Homes”). On March 23, 2018, BCH issued Compliance Order 18-0027 to 1002357 and Alore directing that 1002357 and Alore:
- immediately cease carrying on the business of a residential builder as defined in the Act, and cease construction activities on the New Homes; and
- prior to resuming construction on any of the New Homes, provide BCH Compliance Department with proof that each of the New Homes is being built by a Licensed Residential Builder pursuant to section 14(1) of the Act.
1002357 and Alore were ordered to comply with Compliance Order 18-0027 by April 13, 2018.
