1089673 BC Ltd. (“1089673”), and Ravi Punn (“Punn”), contrary to section 14(1) of the Homeowner Protection Act (the “Act”), conducted the business of a residential builder without a valid BC Housing (“BCH”) Residential Builder Licence between the period of, or about, April 30, 2022, and September 15, 2022, regarding a new home in Langley, BC (the “New Home”). On September 15, 2022, BCH issued Compliance Order 22-0023 to 1089673 and Punn directing that 1089673 and Punn:
- cease carrying on the business of a residential builder as defined in the Act, and cease construction activities on the New Home;
- immediately apply for and become a BCH Licensed Residential Builder (“LRB”) pursuant to section 14(1) of the Act; and
- cease the above-noted activities until such time as 1089673 and Punn become a BCH LRB pursuant to section 14(1) of the Act.
1089673 and Punn were directed to comply with Compliance Order 22-0023 by October 14, 2022.
