Duric Development Ltd. (“DDL”) and Zvonimir Duric (“Duric”), contrary to section 14(1) of the Homeowner Protection Act (the “Act”), conducted the business of a residential builder without a valid BC Housing (“BCH”) Residential Builder Licence between the period of, or about, March 31, 2018, and June 6, 2018, regarding four new homes in Vancouver, BC (collectively, the “New Homes”). On June 6, 2018, BCH issued Compliance Order 18-0040 to DDL and Duric directing that DDL and Duric:
- immediately cease carrying on the business of a residential builder as defined in the Act, and cease construction activities on the New Homes; and
- prior to resuming construction on the New Homes, provide BCH Compliance Department with proof that the New Homes are being built by a Licensed Residential Builder pursuant to section 14(1) of the Act.
DDL and Duric were directed to comply with Compliance Order 18-0040 by July 20, 2018. Complied.
