Mehak Bassi and Shansher Singh Bharaj

Mehak Bassi (“Bassi”) and Shansher Singh Bharaj (“Bharaj”), contrary to section 14(1) and 22(1) of the Homeowner Protection Act (the “Act”), built a new home in Chilliwack, B.C. (the “New Home”) during a period of, or about, September 28, 2007, and May 29, 2012, without being a Homeowner Protection Office (“HPO”) Licensed Residential Builder (“LRB”) and without the New Home being covered by a policy of home warranty insurance. On December 18, 2012, Compliance Order 12-054 was issued by the HPO to Bassi and Bharaj directing that they:

• apply for and become a Homeowner Protection Office (“HPO”)  Licensed Residential Builder (“LRB”) pursuant to section 14(1) of the Act; and
• enrol the New Home with home warranty insurance pursuant section 22(1) of the Act.

Bassi and Bharaj were directed to comply with the Compliance Order 12-054 by January 18, 2013.
