West Rim Construction (“WRC”) and Guy Michael John Scrugham (“Scrugham”), contrary to section 14(5)(b) of the Homeowner Protection Act (the “Act), published information implying and suggesting that WRC and/or Scrugham is a licensed residential builder during the period of, or about, September 1, 2022, and June 2, 2023, without being a BC Housing (“BCH”) Licensed Residential Builder (“LRB”). On June 2, 2023, BCH issued Compliance Order 23-0011 to WRC and Scrugham directing that WRC and Scrugham immediately either:
- cease all signage, marketing, and other publications that imply, suggest, or hold out in any manner that either WRC or Scrugham is a licensed residential builder; or
- become a BCH LRB pursuant to section 14 of the Act.
WRC and Scrugham were ordered to comply with Compliance Order 23-0011 by July 14, 2023.
