R. v. Harvey Williams and Brian Burch - On May 28, 2009, Harvey Williams pleaded guilty to offering for sale and selling a new home in Cranbrook, B.C., in May 2007, that was not covered by home warranty insurance provided by a warranty provider, contrary to s. 22(1) and s. 34(1) of the Homeowner Protection Act. On May 28, 2009, the Provincial Court of British Columbia imposed a fine against Harvey Williams in the amount of $1,000, plus a $150 victim surcharge. On May 28, 2009, Brian Burch pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting in offering for sale and selling a new home in Cranbrook, B.C., in June 2007, that was not covered by home warranty insurance provided by a warranty provider, contrary to s. 22(1) and s. 34(1) of the Homeowner Protection Act and s. 85 of the Offence Act. On May 28, 2009, the Provincial Court of British Columbia imposed a fine against Brian Burch in the amount of $1,000, plus a $150 victim surcharge.
